Discussing the brief with Jared

Today green group had to come in to class so we would be ale to discuss the brief with Jared, either the chosen project from the brief given or ones that we formulated our selves. At first i did not have a clear understanding of where to categorise my own brief, i thought it would be ok if i went to the meeting regarding the second project listed on the brief which was the national gallery. The reason i associated my project with this brief was because the main purpose of both the brief was about branding a product for a company. A week before we were handed the brief Jared asked us to pick out 2 out 4 areas we would like to concentrate on when producing our project. These areas consisted of:

a)2D conceptualization
b)Character animation
c)Visualisation (and modelling)
d)Visulisation (texturing and rendering)

The two i chose from this list were Visualisation (and modelling) and Visualisation (texturing and rendering). The reason for me choosing these two was because i thought that they would fit well with the project im undergoing. As the meeting started with Jared i was to first to inform Jared of my proposed brief and the two areas i was to concentrate on the project. After stating my brief and the two areas i would focus on Jared quickly informed me that the two areas i chose to focus on was actually one area which covered both aspects. At first i was a little disappointed due to the fact that it did not state on the brief that these two areas were seen as once , i thought it was little misleading as they were shown as option C and D.

Talking more with Jared he recommended me choosing 2D conceptualisation as my second area to fous on, he stated that this would be the best choice for me as i was producing a car commercial which through the production stage focuses on the storyboard and animatic aspect. So just to clear things up now the two areas im going to be focusing on are:

a)2D conceptualization
c)Visualisation (and modelling)-Visualisation (texturing and rendering)

I will post up the brief in the next post.
